J.D.
Griffiths CompanyOur very
first centralized computing customer came to us in 2004 to replace
their aging DOS based business system. J.D. Griffiths is a local
construction company dealing in garages as well as doors, openers,
and concrete repair.
While their system did a respectable
job for the company, the owner wished to be able to access his data
in real-time when on the road doing sales. He was also concerned
about possible data loss due to spotty backup procedures, downtime
his employees were experiencing from virus and spyware problems, and
the un-timely and costly support he was getting from his legacy IT
support company.
We converted J.D. Griffiths to
Hosted Windows Computing in early 2005. This 15 user system is
mostly served by thin-clients on an AT&T Managed T1 Internet
connection, with Time Warner Business Cable as a backup. On the road
salespeople access their desktops with laptops running Verizon
Broadband Access cellular Internet cards, and can print drawings,
contracts, and invoices right in their vehicles. Downtime has been
significantly reduced for workers, and the company data is now safe
and secure in our data center, as well as stored off-site nightly.
